Yala airdrop status in 2026

The testnet campaign in the original guide is over, and YU was never the governance-airdrop token. YU is Yala's dollar-referenced stablecoin; YALA is the governance and utility token that launched in July 2025. The Season 1 YALA airdrop claim closed on 21 August 2025, while the Season 2 Berries snapshot was taken on 8 December 2025.

Yala's situation then changed materially. A September 2025 incident created YU liquidity constraints, and the project introduced a staged YU-to-USDC redemption plan. The current yala.org homepage now promotes Yala 2.0, an AI fair-value agent for prediction markets, and its “Redeem” button sends users to the official Yala app.

What happened to YU?

On 14 September 2025, Yala reported that an attacker abused temporary deployment keys during an authorized bridge deployment, created an unauthorized cross-chain bridge and extracted approximately 7.64 million USDC. The project's post-mortem said 30 million unauthorized YU had been issued on Solana. It also said no Bitcoin reserves were compromised and characterized the cause as deployment-key misuse rather than an exploit of the core protocol contracts.

Those distinctions do not erase the effect on holders. YU lost its dollar peg, liquidity became constrained and some users were liquidated or otherwise affected. Yala later moved to a structured redemption pool instead of promising that every holder could immediately swap the full balance for USDC.

The current public Yala site no longer presents YU as part of the main product roadmap. It links holders to redemption while Yala 2.0 focuses on probability estimates and fair-value signals for prediction markets.

How the YU-to-USDC redemption plan works

Start only from the current yala.org homepage and follow its “Redeem” link to app.yala.org/redeem. The official plan describes a 1:1 nominal YU-to-USDC rate, excluding interest-related amounts, but distribution depends on the USDC capacity added to the pool each month.

  1. Confirm that the asset is eligible. The plan covers Ethereum YU and the specified Euler Yala Frontier USDC vault token.
  2. If YU is on Base, Solana or another supported chain, follow current official instructions to move it back to Ethereum before redemption.
  3. Connect the wallet on the official redemption page and verify the asset balance.
  4. Approve only the exact eligible token and deposit it into the current redemption contract.
  5. Monitor “Claimable USDC.” Monthly capacity is allocated proportionally, so the full amount may not be available immediately.
  6. Withdraw USDC when available and verify the receipt on Ethereum.

The published schedule lists 29 December 2026 as the final submission date and targets completion by 31 December 2026, based on the final outcome of judicial processes or an updated debt assessment. That makes the completion date a stated plan, not an unconditional guarantee. Check the live app and official announcements for any change before depositing.

Yala moved users to an updated redemption contract in early 2026. If tokens were deposited in an older contract, do not assume they migrated automatically; use the current official interface to check whether a withdrawal and re-deposit is required.

YALA uses LayerZero's omnichain token standard and was also deployed on other networks. Verify the destination-chain contract through current official documentation or an explorer label rather than assuming that a matching ticker is genuine. For redemption, the plan specifically requires eligible assets on Ethereum.

YALA tokenomics and the completed airdrop

The verified YALA contract sets a maximum supply of 1 billion YALA. The published allocation assigns 3.4% to the airdrop, fully unlocked at TGE. Other categories are:

  • 29.12% Foundation and Treasury;
  • 20% Ecosystem and Community;
  • 20% Team;
  • 15.98% Investors;
  • 10% Marketing; and
  • 1.5% Market Makers.

The Season 1 claim is historical. The project later captured a Season 2 snapshot, but we found no current official general claim page that turns an old testnet balance into a new YALA allocation. Do not connect to a “Berry recovery” or “late YALA claim” site unless it is linked directly from yala.org or the verified @yalaorg account.

What is Yala 2.0?

Yala 2.0 is an AI-native fair-value system for prediction markets. It ingests market, on-chain and other signals, converts them into model features and produces probability estimates intended to help users compare a model-derived fair value with market odds.

Yala says it does not operate a prediction market; it provides probability signals. Those outputs can still be wrong. Model assumptions, incomplete data, fast-moving news, liquidity and market structure can all produce a bad estimate, so a probability forecast should not be treated as guaranteed trading profit.

Yala security and financial risks

  • Redemption timing: A 1:1 nominal rate does not mean instant access to the full USDC amount; monthly capacity is pro rata.
  • Contract migration: Users of an older redemption pool may need to withdraw and deposit into the current contract.
  • Bridge risk: YU on other chains must be moved to Ethereum for the stated redemption process.
  • Stablecoin risk: YU has already experienced a significant loss of peg and liquidity stress.
  • Protocol and key risk: The 2025 incident shows that operational keys and deployment processes can be as consequential as audited contract code.
  • Token risk: YALA remains volatile and the project's main product direction has changed.
  • Phishing risk: Search results can surface look-alike redemption sites. The current yala.org Redeem button points to app.yala.org.

Use a dedicated wallet, inspect the spender and approval amount, and never provide a seed phrase, private key or remote access to a moderator. A legitimate redemption interface does not need those credentials.

Yala Finance ($YU) is a decentralized platform that enables users to borrow over-collateralized stablecoins ($YU) using BTC or UTXO assets, which can then be utilized across various DeFi ecosystems to generate additional earnings. They have just launched their testnet where you can earn rewards, known as Berries. This could be converted into a Yala Finance ($YU) token airdrop in the future! Here is our Yala Finance ($YU) token airdrop guide.

What is Yala Finance ($YU)?

Yala Finance ($YU) is a decentralized platform that connects Bitcoin liquidity with DeFi ecosystems through its stablecoin $YU. This will enable users to borrow over-collateralized stablecoins by depositing BTC or UTXO assets and earn additional yields across various DeFi protocols. Its main features include modular infrastructure for cross-chain compatibility, secure staking with Bitcoin-level security, and a multi-token system comprising $YU and $YALA for governance. Yala has raised $8 million in a seed funding round co-led by Polychain Capital and Ethereal Ventures, with participation from notable investors such as Galaxy Vision Hill, Amber Group, and Hashkey Capital.

How to get the Yala Finance ($YU) token airdrop?

Here is how the original guide described the potential Yala testnet airdrop.
  1. Get Bitcoin wallet Yala Finance is on the Bitcoin network, so you will need a Bitcoin wallet, such as a Unisat or OKX wallet. You can download either wallet here: Unisat wallet, OKX wallet.
  2. Connect to Yala Finance Connect your Bitcoin wallet to the historical Yala Finance testnet.
  3. Claim testnet tokens Click “Go to step 1.2” and fund your wallet with both testnet BTC, as well as testnet ETH and USDC. Note it might take some time for the tokens to arrive in your wallet. Once the tokens have arrived you will see it in your wallet history.
  4. Deposit testnet tokens Click on the Bitcoin icon on the Yala Finance website and enter the amount you claimed from the faucet. Deposit the tokens into the platform.
  5. Mint $YU Tokens Go to the “MetaMintU” tab. Entering the amount of YBTC you want to convert and click “submit”.
  6. Connect wallet to BerryBoard Click on the “BerryBoard” tab. Connect Your EVM Wallet by clicking “Connect destination chain wallet” on the top right hand corner. This allows you to perform daily check-ins and participate in the lucky draw.
  7. Give feedback On the BerryBoard, submit feedback on the platform to the team and earn Berries.
  8. Explore platform Explore and Engage Play around with the platform. Go to the “Earn” section and stake or convert tokens for Berry rewards.
