Hyperliquid HYPE airdrop status in 2026

The HYPE Genesis Event is complete, and Hyperliquid has not officially confirmed a “Season 2” HYPE airdrop. The first distribution occurred on 29 November 2024. Hyperliquid's documentation says both phases of its points program ended in 2024, and it does not describe a new points season or a current HYPE claim.

ItemVerified status
Genesis Event29 November 2024 at 07:30 UTC
Maximum HYPE supply1 billion, subject to supply reductions from burns
Genesis allocation31%, or up to 310 million HYPE
Genesis token lockFully unlocked for eligible recipients
Original points programsEnded in May and November 2024
Official Season 2 announcementNone verified
Current public HYPE claimNone verified

The 38.888% allocation reserved for future emissions and community rewards is not proof of another retroactive airdrop. That reserve also funds staking rewards and may support other community incentives. Until Hyper Foundation or Hyperliquid publishes rules, dates and an official interface, any “Season 2 criteria” are speculation.

What was the HYPE Genesis airdrop?

Hyper Foundation's Genesis Event rewarded eligible early Hyperliquid users. Its terms required participants to make a redemption submission during the specified period; eligible submissions then received rewards automatically. The tokenomics assigned up to 310 million HYPE to the distribution, fully unlocked at genesis. Any undistributed part was moved to the future-emissions and community-rewards allocation.

Hyperliquid's points documentation records two historical phases:

  • The original program began on 1 November 2023, distributed 1 million points weekly for six months and ended on 1 May 2024.
  • The L1 points phase began on 29 May 2024, distributed 700,000 points weekly and ended in November 2024.

Those points helped document past participation but are not currently being earned. A website claiming to reactivate old points, sell missing points or accept a late HYPE claim is inconsistent with the official status.

Is there a Hyperliquid Season 2 airdrop?

No official Season 2 has been announced as of this update. The idea remains popular because Hyperliquid reserved a large share of supply for future community rewards and the ecosystem continues to add products. Neither fact establishes a snapshot, reward formula or second airdrop.

Trading solely to manufacture volume for an unconfirmed reward can lose more than any hypothetical allocation. Costs include trading fees, spread, slippage, funding payments and liquidation risk. Repeated self-trading or other artificial activity may also be excluded if a future program applies anti-abuse rules. Use Hyperliquid only when the transaction itself fits your strategy, not because a third-party “airdrop calculator” promises a return.

Future emissions and community rewards38.888%
Genesis distribution31.0%
Current and future core contributors23.8%
Hyper Foundation budget6.0%

The one-billion figure is a maximum, not a promise that one billion tokens will always remain outstanding. Hyperliquid's current fee documentation says HYPE held by the assistance fund is burned, permanently reducing total and circulating supply. HyperEVM base and priority fees are also burned.

Core-contributor tokens were excluded from the Genesis distribution and were subject to a one-year lock. Published vesting schedules mostly finish between 2027 and 2028, with some extending later. Future unlocks and emissions can increase circulating supply even while burns reduce it, so a single headline supply number does not describe all dilution risk.

Does HYPE have a contract address?

HYPE is the native asset of Hyperliquid, not a conventional ERC-20 with a token contract. On HyperCore its mainnet token ID is 150. On HyperEVM it is the native gas token, and the mainnet chain ID is 999.

The address 0x2222222222222222222222222222222222222222 is a Hyperliquid system address used for transfers between HyperCore and HyperEVM; it is not an ERC-20 HYPE contract to import. Do not send assets to that address without following the current official transfer instructions. A token on Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, Solana or another network that merely uses the HYPE ticker is not native Hyperliquid HYPE.

How to check an old HYPE allocation safely

  1. Open the official app from hyperliquid.xyz, not from a sponsored search result or direct message.
  2. Inspect the same address used for the historical points program and Genesis submission.
  3. Check its HyperCore spot, staking and transfer history. HYPE moved to staking will not appear in the spot balance.
  4. Use a read-only explorer when possible; checking a public address does not require a wallet signature.
  5. If there is no historical distribution, do not approve a token, pay a fee or share a seed phrase to “recover” it. There is no verified late-claim path.

Hyper Foundation's own Genesis terms warned that its official website was the only interface for that event. Old screenshots and cloned pages do not become legitimate because they reproduce the Foundation's branding.

What is Hyperliquid?

Hyperliquid is a layer-one blockchain built for an on-chain financial system. HyperCore runs its perpetual-futures and spot order books, while HyperEVM provides a general-purpose smart-contract environment. Both inherit finality from the HyperBFT consensus system.

The current documentation states that HyperCore supports up to 200,000 orders per second. HYPE is used for network staking, HyperEVM gas, fee discounts and protocol functions. Perpetual futures remain high-risk derivatives: leverage can liquidate a position, stop orders are not guaranteed to execute at a chosen price, and self-custody does not eliminate smart-contract, oracle, bridge or validator risk.

Frequently asked questions

Is the HYPE airdrop still claimable?

No current late-claim page can be verified. The Genesis Event occurred in November 2024 after an earlier redemption-submission period.

Has Hyperliquid confirmed a Season 2 airdrop?

No. Hyperliquid's official documentation does not announce Season 2 rules, dates, snapshots or a new points program.

How much HYPE was allocated to the Genesis airdrop?

Up to 310 million HYPE, equal to 31% of the one-billion maximum supply, was allocated to eligible Genesis participants.

When did the original Hyperliquid points program end?

The first phase ended on 1 May 2024. The subsequent L1 points phase ended in November 2024.

Do future community rewards guarantee another airdrop?

No. The reserve also supports emissions such as staking rewards. Its allocation alone does not guarantee another retroactive distribution.

What is the HYPE contract address?

Native HYPE has no ordinary ERC-20 contract. It is HyperCore token ID 150 and the native gas asset on HyperEVM.

Is the 0x2222 address a HYPE token contract?

No. 0x2222222222222222222222222222222222222222 is a system address for native transfers between HyperCore and HyperEVM, not an ERC-20 contract.

What is the HyperEVM mainnet chain ID?

The official documentation lists chain ID 999. HYPE is the network's native gas token.

Should I trade more to farm a possible HYPE airdrop?

There is no confirmed reward formula. Extra volume creates real fees, funding, slippage and liquidation risk, so it should not be treated as guaranteed airdrop farming.

How do I spot a fake HYPE claim?

Use links reached from hyperliquid.xyz or hyperfoundation.org, never reveal a seed phrase, and reject any claim requiring a deposit, recovery fee or unknown token approval.
