Hyperlane HYPER airdrop status in 2026

Hyperlane's token is no longer a rumour. HYPER launched on 22 April 2025 across Ethereum, Arbitrum One, Base, OP Mainnet and BNB Smart Chain. The initial 7.5% Expansion Drop rewarded more than 340,000 eligible early users and developers, based principally on activity before the 28 February 2025 snapshot.

That genesis claim is closed. Users first had to configure a preclaim, then redeem after the token-generation event; the final claim deadline was 22 May 2025 at 13:00 UTC. The Foundation said unclaimed allocations would be redirected to incentives for future Hyperlane activity. A “late HYPER claim” page cannot recover the expired Expansion Drop.

Hyperlane also created a separate, ongoing Expansion Rewards programme for users and applications that generate cross-chain message fees. Current documentation says rewards are calculated retroactively, require fees above a set threshold and will be claimable through an interface, but will not be distributed at regular frequencies. This supersedes the original launch announcement's expectation of quarterly distributions.

Can you still earn HYPER Expansion Rewards?

Potentially, but there is no fixed reward for completing a checklist. Hyperlane defines an eligible user as an externally owned account that signs a transaction sending a Hyperlane message. Rewards are allocated as a relative share of qualifying fees above a threshold. Applications can receive rewards and pass them through to end users; the launch design used an 85% default pass-through, but applications can change their rate.

The important distinction is real protocol usage versus manufactured volume. The original guide recommended repeating third-party bridges, minting NFTs and providing small liquidity positions because the token criteria were unknown. Those actions cannot create eligibility for the closed February 2025 snapshot. For future rewards, current official documentation points to message fees and qualifying application usage—not an approved list of “airdrop farming” tasks.

  • Use a Hyperlane-powered application only when its transfer or message is genuinely useful to you.
  • Confirm the route, token contract, destination address, fee, slippage and security model before signing.
  • Do not churn funds merely to imitate activity; fees and bridge risks can exceed any unknown reward.
  • Keep transaction records and follow Hyperlane Foundation announcements for a specific reward period and official interface.
  • Never assume that a third-party bridge, NFT minter or liquidity pool is endorsed merely because it uses Hyperlane infrastructure.

Official HYPER contract addresses

HYPER is natively multichain and uses burn-and-mint transfers to maintain a unified supply. Verify both the network and contract before swapping or bridging:

The same hexadecimal address on three chains does not make balances interchangeable without a valid cross-chain transfer. HYPER's five deployments are coordinated through Hyperlane's Warp Asset framework.

HYPER tokenomics and unlocks

The Foundation described a one-billion HYPER supply reached over 25 years, with 177.7 million circulating at TGE. The long-term allocation is 57.02% community and 42.98% bootstrappers:

  • 25.50% Expansion Rewards: includes 6.25% distributed in the genesis Expansion Drop.
  • 20% staking rewards: minted on a 25-year linear schedule.
  • 11.52% Strategic Launch Provision: liquidity, market access and selected reward boosts.
  • 25% core team: 25% cliff unlock after 12 months, then linear vesting over the following 24 months.
  • 10.87% early backers: the same 12-month cliff and subsequent 24-month linear schedule.
  • 7.11% Foundation treasury: linear unlock after its initial locked period under the published schedule.

Because the team and early-backer cliffs passed in April 2026, launch-day circulating-supply figures are no longer current. Use the Foundation's release schedule and on-chain supply, not an old exchange listing article, when assessing dilution.

How HYPER staking and stHYPER work

Users stake HYPER through the Hyperlane vault on Symbiotic and receive stHYPER as the liquid receipt. The vault delegates only to the Hyperlane network rather than restaking across unrelated protocols, but stakers still take Hyperlane validator, vault, smart-contract and slashing risk.

Rewards are calculated per epoch, currently about one month. Unstaking is not immediate: after initiating an exit, a user waits roughly one full epoch depending on timing—about 30 to 60 days—then must manually finalise the withdrawal. Hyperlane says slashing penalties are socialised across HYPER stakers, so a validator safety violation can reduce every staker's position rather than only one validator's delegation.

stHYPER exists on Ethereum and BNB Smart Chain. Holding stHYPER can build a HyperStreak that increases weighting for Expansion Rewards, but moving or withdrawing the position can reset the streak. A reward multiplier does not remove token-price, slashing, liquidity or lockup risk.

Corrections to the original 2024 guide

  • HYPER launched in April 2025; it is no longer a rumoured token.
  • The genesis Expansion Drop claim ended on 22 May 2025 and cannot be farmed retroactively.
  • The Foundation's $18.5 million seed round is confirmed, but the $74 million valuation in the original article was not stated in Hyperlane's fundraising announcement.
  • Current Expansion Rewards are tied to qualifying Hyperlane message fees and are not promised on a regular quarterly cadence.
  • The third-party services listed below were examples used before criteria were known, not bridges “approved by Hyperlane.”
  • Historical fee estimates and routes can change or disappear. The old Nexus URL now redirects to nexus.hyperlane.xyz, and the Renzo route redirects to Renzo's current bridge.
  • Referral parameters have been removed from the archived exchange links.

The original guide is preserved substantially as published. It reflects pre-token speculation and should not be followed as a current eligibility strategy.

Hyperlane is a universal, permissionless interoperability layer designed for the modular blockchain stack, enabling seamless communication and customizable security across different blockchain environments. They have recently raised US$18.5 million with a US$74 million valuation and there are rumours they will do a token airdrop. Here is our Hyperlane token airdrop guide.

What is Hyperlane?

Hyperlane is a universal interoperability layer designed for modular blockchain stacks. Here are Hyperlane’s main features:

  • Permissionless Deployment: It can be deployed by anyone to any blockchain environment, including layer 1, rollups, or app-chains.
  • Interchain Communication: Enables seamless communication between chains where Hyperlane is deployed.
  • Modularity: Offers interchain security modules that developers can configure for their application’s security needs.
  • Interchain Applications: Supports the creation of apps that operate across multiple blockchains, with pre-built examples like Warp Routes and Interchain accounts.

How to get the Hyperlane token airdrop?

Time needed: 1 hourHere’s how to get the potential Hyperlane token airdrop?
  1. Go to Merkly Go to https://minter.merkly.com/hyperlane.
  2. Bridge and mint NFTs on Merkly On Merkly, follow the steps to bridge and mint NFTs, in turn this will help you generate volume which would be helpful in any potential airdrop. Note you would want to avoid using Ethereum as a bridge because of the high gas fees. Some destination blockchains with low gas fees include Gnosis, Celo and Moonbeam. Fees are around US$1.1 to bridge 0.1 ETH on Merkly token bridge via Hyperlane.
  3. Get Celestia tokens ($TIA) Get Celestia ($TIA) tokens via swaps or from a centralised exchange such as Bybit or BingX. Note this will involve using real funds. Fund your Keplr wallet with Celestia ($TIA) tokens.

    Visit Bybit or BingX.
  4. Connect wallet to Hyperlane NEXUS Connect your Metamask and Keplr wallets to https://www.usenexus.org/
  5. Bridge Celestia ($TIA) tokens to Arbitrum Select Celestia as the “From” chain and Arbitrum as the “To” chain. Then bridge your Celestia ($TIA) tokens.
  6. Bridge Celestia ($TIA) tokens to Neutron Select Arbitrum as the “From” chain and Neutron as the “To” chain. Then bridge your Celestia ($TIA.n) tokens.
  7. Bridge Celestia ($TIA) tokens to Manta Select Neutron as the “From” chain and Manta as the “To” chain. Then bridge your Celestia ($TIA.n) tokens.
  8. Swap to Renzo staked ETH ($ezETH) Go to supported exchanges such as Balancer, Uniswap or Pancakeswap to swap your ETH or other tokens to Renzo staked ETH ($ezETH).
  9. Use Renzo Protocol with Hyperlane Connect your wallet to https://renzo.hyperlane.xyz/ and bridge your $ezETH tokens to Arbitrum or other blockchains. Repeat this process every few days.
  10. Add Celestia ($TIA.n) liquidity on Arbitrum Connect your wallet to https://traderjoexyz.com/arbitrum/trade and select the Arbitrum network on the top right-hand corner. Swap some tokens to bridged TIA ($TIA.n) tokens.
  11. Add liquidity to TIA.n/ETH pool Go to the “Pool” tab on the top left-hand corner. Click on the TIA.n/ETH pool and add around US$10-$20 worth of liquidity.
  12. Bridge tokens with bridges approved by Hyperlane Here is a list of token brdiges approved by Hyperlane, it is likely that using these bridges would make you eligible for any potential token airdrop: Nexus, Nautilus Chain, Injective, Skip:Go, Superform, Merkly, Mitosis Expedition, Forma, Renzo.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Hyperlane HYPER airdrop still active?

The 7.5% genesis Expansion Drop is closed; its final claim deadline was 22 May 2025. Hyperlane separately documents ongoing, retroactive Expansion Rewards for qualifying message-sending users and applications.

Can I still claim the original HYPER airdrop?

No. Users had to complete the preclaim and post-TGE claim by their respective 2025 deadlines. The Foundation said unclaimed HYPER would be reallocated to incentives for future protocol activity.

When did HYPER launch?

HYPER went live on 22 April 2025 as a natively multichain token on Ethereum, Arbitrum One, Base, OP Mainnet and BNB Smart Chain.

Who qualified for the Hyperlane Expansion Drop?

The principal snapshot covered early Hyperlane usage through 28 February 2025. The Foundation applied fee thresholds and Sybil weighting, plus defined boosts for certain canonical routes, NFT holders, historic TIA liquidity providers and community contributors.

How do ongoing Hyperlane Expansion Rewards work?

Current docs say qualifying users and applications receive a relative share based on Hyperlane message fees above a threshold. Rewards are retroactive, use a claim interface when distributed and do not follow a regular schedule.

Does bridging repeatedly guarantee HYPER rewards?

No. Hyperlane does not promise a fixed return for a number of bridges, NFT mints or dollars of volume. Repetitive transactions cost fees and create cross-chain risk, while eligibility and relative allocations can change.

What is the HYPER token supply?

The Foundation's schedule reaches one billion HYPER over 25 years and reported 177.7 million circulating at TGE. Long-term community categories account for 57.02% of supply.

What is stHYPER?

stHYPER is the liquid receipt issued when HYPER is staked in the Hyperlane Symbiotic vault. It exists on Ethereum and BNB Smart Chain and can receive staking rewards, while remaining exposed to vault and slashing risk.

How long does HYPER unstaking take?

Hyperlane documents an exit of roughly 30 to 60 days depending on epoch timing. Users must initiate the unstake, wait for the relevant epoch to finish and then manually finalise the withdrawal.

What is a HyperStreak?

A HyperStreak tracks continuous stHYPER holding and can increase a user's Expansion Reward weight up to 1.6 times. Transferring or withdrawing stHYPER can reset the streak, subject to the current programme rules.
